So since BB loves the 3-4 but has the personnel for the 4-3, what about running both almost like lines in the NHL. This way you would have more or less fresh players and the opposition cannot plan for one or the other. The two different formations might have to me slightly simplified for those players who play in both. You could also simplify the roles of the players (Fat Albert-just kill the QB) so that everyone knows their role and simply concentrates on this. A few of the smartest players (Mayo, Wilfork), will hold multiple roles but in what are generally simpler schemes. What I see as these "Lines" after the jump.
Assuming you spend 14 spots here and have a base 3-4 AND a base 4-3
4-3 Base:
Carter Haynesworth Love Anderson
Ninkovich Fletcher Mayo
3-4 Base:
Warren Wilfork Ellis
Cunningham Spikes Mayo Moore
And after this Guyton for LB depth and could also Brace or Pryor instead of either Guyton (I don’t see his value personally) or Moore and move Ninkovich to play two roles.
Also if you went with 5 WRs as Hernandez can be #6 and Maneri can fill in as a goal line TE then you would have 15 to dedicate to the front 7 and can keep both Guyton and another DL or 2 more DL.
I think BB will rotate in some other fashion but i love that our depth is this good that we could literally have both a base 3-4 and base 4-3 with many fresh players in each set.
