Safety Bret Lockett, #26, was released by the Patriots Sunday August 21, 2011 after suffering a torn abdomen in a pre-season game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Patriots also released T Zach Roth to make room for signing former Patriots TE Garrett Mills, who was originally drafted by New England in the 4th round of the 2006 draft.
