this is the last of the 5 I was going to talk about. this is on the LBs. This is more based of what scheme will be our base, 4-3 or 3-4.
The questions I ask here are: Who will play opposite of Cunningham (if we stick to 3-4) and how well will cunningham do? Who will be the starters in our chosen scheme?

I assume Cunningham will start for us, whether it be 4-3 at DE, or 3-4 OLB. One of the big questions is who would play opposite of him in the 3-4 if we stay with that scheme. Nink played admirably last year, being good in pretty much everything(not great good), but I don't know how he can rush the QB. Moore did well at OLB when we played 3-4, and showed promise late in the season. We got rookie Markel Carter, and maybe Andre Carter can be throw in as well. Will it be Nink who wins the spot again? Or will we see someone taking up the reigns?
In the 4-3, its difficult to project who our LBs will be. I know Mayo and Spikes will be starting. In my opinion, Spikes will be MLB in the 4-3 because he is a very tough guy, who has the awareness to cover both the pass, and stop the run. What Mayo has over him is athleticism, and possibly even more awareness, but the reason I'd have him outside is because he is faster, and he can cover those TEs better man to man. Plus, since I believe Spikes is a lot tougher, he would help with going to the left or right side (where-ever the RB would run to in a running play) easily, and would use not only hs range, but because of his toughness and strength, he would be better served with stopping runs on all sides with wilfork and haynes in the middle.
But who would start opposite of mayo if this was the scenario? I wonder if Dane Fletcher would be up to the task, but I havent watched camp recently so I dont know who would be the best fit. What are your thoughts on this?
here is the recap of our question this pre-season:
5. Who is the 4th WR? How will Chad Ochocinco play? How will Price and Tate be? Will Edelman return kickoffs, or is it Price? Is there any chance to see one of our young WRs take the #2 spot the next pre-season game?
4. Who will be our #2, and our 3rd down back? How will vereen and ridley do? Who is our FB?
3. How will Bodden do? Where will Ras-I play, will he steal the slot spot? Who will be our #1 CB? How much has Chung and Meriweather improved?
1. Who will play opposite of Cunningham (if we stick to 3-4) and how well will cunningham do? Who will be the starters in our chosen scheme?
These are questions that I expect to be answered this pre-season.
