Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Flood of DL signings is spelled P.U.P.

Apparently, Bill Belichick ordered the front office to sign any and all DL free agents and they complied.

Actually discussing any of the D lineman on the roster beyond Vinny may be a waste of time as the PUP list grows. Lets see, within 30 days about eleven of these guys will be cut or IR'd. so, lets go with Vinny  at tackle or a nose depending how the wind is blowing and that is that.

The injury list changes by the hour so, all we can do is observe the head coach/GM and make one basic conclusion, he likes first round draft picks now doesn't he? A lot of these new guys were drafted high, little did they know BB was willing to wait 10 years to get them on the team.

Beyond the first rounder thing, everybody is hurt all the time or has only been in Foxboro for 48 hours...except for Vinny who shows up for practice all the time and meets a greets the new guys before they head over to the PUP, or the trainer's room, or the stationary bicycle...or better yet go look for Ron Brace and see what he is doing because we may have 20 or so D lineman in camp, but, about 9 and a half of them are wearing pads...oops forgot Vinny he counts for two so lets call it eleven and a half.

All this 3-4 or 4-3 talk might just end as they break camp in September with four healthy D lineman...I mean Vinny, his back up.and three other guys...maybe a -2-5? Lets have Vinny be the only guy with his hand down with ten DB's dropping. Good luck Sanchez.

If you are in your 30's, weigh over 275 and might have been a first rounder? Keep checking for messages...Vinny is waiting for ya..

I don't get it

What was the point of this article?
Is it a satire? Because of that was the case it would be a little more acceptable because of how ridiculous it is. On the other hand satires are suppose to be comical and this completely misses that.
Is it suppose to be truthful? If that is the case you should go hang out with Nostradamus or the people who thought all the human population was going to fly into the sky a couple of months ago.

Relax, its early.

BB did bring in a sackful of D-linemen

And as you’ve pointed out, some of them will be weeded out by injuries, and others will prove they can’t do the job. Some we don’t expect will surprise and stick around, and then there is the “Vince” level for the sure-things (although even he most likely wouldn’t count himself in that category).

Belichick didn’t sound too worried about the new-to-the-Pats veterans on PUP. He’s not going to rush anyone in who’s still recovering from off season surgery (Ellis) or chronic knee issues (Haynesworth). These guys know what they’re doing and will perform when needed. As much as I really, really want to see them in camp (Haynesworth’s first day was awesome!) I’d rather they be healthy for the long-haul.

I’m not worried.

Keep the faith!

That is why I call Wilfork "Big Vince"

I call the D-Line “Big Vince & Associates”

I have the same birthday as Tom Brady.

There's active PUP and reserve PUP

Don’t expect all the players on Active to be IR’d, seeing as they are all veterans either new to the system (so they need to learn the playbook, but don’t need the practice reps like a rookie) or had surgery in the offseason (Matt Light, Kevin Faulk).

Ellis added to Active PUP

He has hip issues that’s sidelining him. With Haynesworth’s injury, it’s nothing new. Patriots are playing it safe with a guy that uses injections of synthetic knee fluid. Both should be ready against the Dolphins in Week 1.

Or Belichick wants to run two D-lines - a separate 40-front set and another 30-front set

They’re running 50% 40-front anyway, makes sense to split them up and have guys specialise.

Token southern hemisphere guy - 14,688km from Foxboro. That's 9128 miles, for you heathens.
