high concerns about this defense.

it's only 2 weeks in so i don't believe i'm overreacting, but the defense looks the same as last year. i know, they forced 4 turnovers and had a goalline stand - all great highlights. but phillip rivers' white jersey looked like it had just gotten out of the dryer after the game. despite the fact that we led for the entire game, there wasn't an ounce of pressure on rivers the entire game. did anyone see the pocket collapse at all? this is my concern. this is not some scheme that can be worked out over time - this is having the talent and the players to successfully rush the quarterback. rivers had all the time in the world and seemed to at the very least complete his checkdown pass for 5-10 yards on every throw. it's great to have an awesome offense - but just ask the colts how that fares in january. if we don't learn how to rush the passer, we're not going to win a playoff game. we can't rely on brady to win every game for us. i mean, the talent we have on the line is unbelievable: wilfork, haynesworth, ellis, carter, pryor, etc. did anyone else notice rivers' perfect pocket the entire game? our secondary doesn't stand a chance if qbs consistently have 4 seconds to throw the ball. i know rivers is a top 5 qb, but i would like to see some penetration on clear passing downs. i'm just not seeing it and very worried that this will be our same downfall. the best defensive teams in the league get pressure with 4. doesn't even seem like we get pressure when we blitz 5 or 6. anyone?
