That game was given away. Given away worse then any game the Chargers have ever given us, or the Colts have given the Chargers. While by stats or performance it was not the worst game I've ever seen, it definitely would get the reward for the most pathetic choke. My blame falls completely on Brady, and I give very little credit to the Bills.
For our offense to run, Brady needs to preform. He doesn't need to score 40 points every time, or throw for 5 touchdowns - but he simply CANNOT throw interceptions. This is the foundation for the Pat's team as a whole: not losing the turnover battle. For them to lose because of such basic mistakes is disgusting.
And no, the Bills ARE NOT for real. Like I said we gave them that game - literally any team could have won that. They did nothing impressive, and, aside from a few long passes at the end, really only had to go about 30-40 yards instead of 60+. I don't mean to be disrespectful to any Bills fans in any way, but no, you are not the best team in the AFC East, and you might not even be deserving of the 3rd spot. It is true they won, but ask any Bills fan - did you really win that game, or did we lose it?
As a Pats fan I'd be the first to admit that last week the Chargers lost, the Patriots did not win.
Also, there is the Pat's defense. I do not blame the Pats defense at all, considering many times they were starting at a short field, or, in the case of the pick-six, not even getting a chance. They're the same old defense of 2009 and 2010, but lets keep in mind that defense was good enough to sweep the Bills that year, and beat all but two teams last year. Anyone who blames the Pat's defense must not be awear of this.
Still, I guess you could conclude there is alot of work that needs to be done. I expect the Patriots to go 16-0, and for games like these to be a breeze. My confidence in them is not too effected by this game, as, like I said, it wasn't the norm from Brady and there is no reason to expect performances like this to happen regularly. It does however show that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING had changed since last year when it comes to to the defense.
And lastly, WHY is there a second-half in football? I mean, why bother - look at this game, and look at the Vikings-Lions game, and the Saints-Texans game - the first half simply has zero relevance to anything. Unless its changed so that teams that are up in the first half get some sort of bonus (like an extra 14 points free if your ahead at half-time) then the game will always be decided in the second half, or more likely, the final 2 minutes. Why waste your time watching the first half?
