Round 2 Patriots vs Broncos: Injury Report
The final injury report has been released for Saturday's game:
Out (0% chance of playing):
WR Eric Decker - Tebow's 2nd favorite receiver as of late. Big loss for the Broncos.
LS Lonie Paxton - Out for personal reasons. Best of luck to the former Patriot. Big hit to the Broncos special teams.
Doubtful (25%):
S Brian Dawkins - Team leader, but has missed time recently. Won't be much of a change from what the Patriots have already seen.
Quesionable (50%):
None
Probable (75%):
S David Bruton - Not an expected impact player.
DE Elvis Dumervil - If Doom is suffering an injury, the Patriots offensive line would be catching a huge break.
TE Daniel Fells - #1 TE, Fells has been used as a downfield threat despite his lack of speed. Versatile player.
OLB Von Miller - Still recovering from his hand injury.
Patriots:
Out (0% chance of playing):
NoneDoubtful (25%):
None
Quesionable (50%):
CB Kyle Arrington - His foot has been bothering him all season; Tebow loves to throw to his left, which is right at Arrington. Match-up to watch.
OT Marcus Cannon - Hurt his ankle, wouldn't be surprised if Cannon is inactive.
S Pat Chung - Chung was removed from the list but was nicked up at practice on Thursday. Should play, but should be important to watch how he plays.
C Dan Connolly - Connolly should be at center as he's recovering from his groin injury.
LB Dane Fletcher - Fletcher is still recovering from his thumb injury. Look for him to play an important role against the Broncos.
S James Ihedigbo - Digs suffers from stingers and they're trying to take care of his shoulder.
G Logan Mankins - Depends on how his knee is holding up. Game time decision.
OLB Rob Ninkovich - Nink hurt his hip in Week 17 and sat for a lot of snaps. Interesting to see how he plays, especially because of how much trouble he had against the Broncos the first time around.
ST Matthew Slater - Slater's been bothered with his injury all season, just like Arrington.
ILB Brandon Spikes - Spikes is still recovering from his MCL injury. Hopefully he's able to help shore up the run defense.
OT Sebastian Vollmer - Vollmer's still dealing with back injuries. If he can play, the Patriots offensive line will be better prepared for heavy TE sets.
WR Wes Welker - Welker's knees have been brittle as of late after landing on it awkwardly a few weeks ago. He should play, but they're being careful with him.
LB Tracy White - Missed last week of the season with an abdominal issue. Wouldn't be surprised if he's inactive.
Probable (75%):
None
Should be a good game.

CHUNG!!!!!!!!!
..WTF?
A knee injury, ugh. I really hope he is a go, man. That injury is very worrisome. Just hope it was a very technical interpretation of the injury report rules.
ie:Knee feels tight or whatever, doctor looks, Chung is fine. Ergo must go on injury report.

Really hope Mankins can go..
..Had a rough year IMHO. But Mankins Play Vs the Broncos last month, was his best game of the year I would say..

This offseason we need to replace Chung.
Can’t rely on that guy in the least bit.
My Twitter @totheights
I actually agree with him
Chung is a fantastic player, but he’s been out with a variety of different issues this year. Safety is already going to be an area of focus anyways, might as well sign/ draft extra just in case.

This is crazy talk...

Getting a new free safety, definitely
But replacing one of the best players in the secondary just because he had an injury is crazy talk. We need Chung to be SS, and pick up an Ed Reed type player that knows how to take proper angles and cover on the back end. I’m not saying we’re going to find someone anywhere near as good as Ed Reed, just someone who can read and react a lot better than who we have now.

I like Chung in all, but saying he is a "fantastic player" is really over the top. We sucked
in the secondary even when he was here.
Depth is great. Right up until you need it!!
Wow, could not Disagree more...

I wouldn't say "replace"...
…but the Patriots definitely need to find some insurance players.

Yeah, this is actually what i agree with
Chung is the only starting quality true safety we have, and he was out for half the season. This is two seasons straight where our passing defense was marred with bad players. We need depth, and quick. At least two solid safeties. Ihedigbo can help in a jam, but he’s definitely not a long term option.

Agree with this...
…The pats really need to build depth in the back field for sure.
I really like Ihedigbo, but he should be part of the depth(Not a safety who starts).
But let’s face it, the pats are in the middle of a rebuild right now.

Broncos signed a 40 year old long snapper, David Binn
who played 17 years for San Diego before he was finally replaced by SD this year.

Oh, someone with good taste in TV...
…so rare these days.
I refuse to watch any pregame tomorrow
I already couldn’t eat anything today, and more talk-talk-talk will just frazzle me senseless.
Keep the faith!
I never watch that stuff
I’m just glad the NIners game is before, and I can work the nerves out with that one.
I bet the troop was out in the snow in T-Shirts and shorts this evening toughening themselves up
I refuse to wear a coat until SB ring #4, pumped up yes :)

You’re not the only one- God willing I will be trecking from my house (where I will watch whatever parts of Saints- Niners I can) to Applebees during the pre-Game, arriving just in time for the actual game. I wanted to be home with the basket of laundry to fold when things got tight (or troublesome)- I did this for the last several weeks, and it only took a little bit of laundry to get the offense to smooth out. But my mom is whining about wanting to go to dinner, and at least this way I will get to see the game.
"Valdez can pitch, Lee can hit... and pigs can fly."
That is a crapload of crucial questionables.
What the hell happened to healing up during the bye?!
Thats normal
its really nothing to even think about other then the ones we know were injured prior (mankins, Chung)
Thats not normal if you look at past injury reports. Makes me think its kinda just like Bill being Bill
He has to put guys on the injury report ao why not just make them all questionable and focus on the task at hand? I hope that’s the case to be honest.

Man, my confidence was a little higher thinking Chung was healthy
Still, i don’t think we’ve lost a game he’s missed, so…there’s that.
Playing teams that suck and were lead by nothing more than back QB's certainly assisted
our wins, no?
Depth is great. Right up until you need it!!
That is alot of ? marks after two-weeks off!
I hope that is more of BB not putting guys under the Probable column. Geeze

As an off topic response, when we were playing today (I play in NZ), I was dropping back in pass prot (playing right tackle). Our fullback for some odd reason (maybe he saw a blitzer?) came screaming up in pass prot as well and absolutely clocked me. Biggest hit of the day and I was playing both ways.
Here’s the vaguely amusing bit. After he hit me all I could think of was Brandon Meriweather’s habit of smashing his teammates. And I couldn’t stop giggling.
