Before the AFC Championship starts, only one question to ask- what should the patriots do with the 27th overall pick? With the New Orleans Saints falling to the San Francisco 49ers, the Patriots get the 27th pick in the first round. With the Patriots own selection going no higher than 30th, speculation is that Bill Belichick will trade down to the 2nd round for a future 1st like the most recent draft. The last season BB had 2 first round selections was in 2004, when he drafted Vince Wilfork (21st) and Benjamin Watson (32nd). In my opinion, the biggest need for the Patriots in the draft is depth on the interior OL, depth at WR, and depth at DL. There are plenty of interesting prospects in the game- and only a couple collegiate programs that use a 3-4 base defense such as Alabama and Cal-Berkeley.
