Sterling Moore: Hero of the Night
I don't care what happened the other 59.5 minutes of the game. Sterling Moore's final two plays saved the day. Welcome to Patriot history.

AFCCG isn't anything to sniff at
The Pats have three hours to celebrate – they can’t prep without knowing the next opposition.
You have three hours to go nuts.

Vince Wilfork got into Cundiffe's face on the kick
He had a phenomenal game – watch him blow up the centre of the Ravens kick unit. It’s like Cundiffe tried to kick around Vince.

Can someone please show me the NFL rule that shows that Lee Evans did not have a touchdown?
If you have a source, even better. I’m arguing with one of my friends who claims it was a touchdown and I don’t have the rule.

It's not.
Didn’t have control all the way through – refer them to the Calvin Johnson not-TD last season.

He didn't have possession.
Ball was knocked out before his second foot was even down. Pretty simple rule.

Even if he did...
They extend it out for end zone catches – if Megatron’s wasn’t last year, no way in hell Evans’s was.

I would expect it falls under
He had to complete a ‘football move’ in order to demonstrate possession. It is not the same as when a runner ( who already has possession) just needs to cross the plain.

Id make a review post, and some thoughts but....
still at a loss for words. such a great game. Now Im going to root for the giants. I want that rematch, even though their receivers are very good.

Wish the Raiders didn't cut Sterling, but at the same time I'm glad he is on the pats.

How much of the blame goes to BOB?
Fenway: "An alternate and better universe, disguised as a ballpark." --Thomas Boswell
A good amount, maybe half
But Brady’s two interceptions were just dumb. It seems like he’s expecting the play to go perfectly instead of actually reading the coverage and adjusting.
" The defense pulled out a win for the Patriots."
As many times as I have heard (and said) how much our D sucks, THIS is the quote of the night for me.
GO PATS!!!
All year...
People have been asking, can the Pats win if Brady has a bad game?
And they ****ing prove it in the AFCCG. Ridiculous.

Patriots are on the exact same trajectory as the 2006 Colts.
Injured players return for the playoffs.
Scrape through the playoffs.
Only the opposition won’t be as soft as the Bears. Maybe the 49ers if Alex Smith’s game against the Saints was an anomaly, but doubtful. Giants and 49ers are both for real. Yeesh.
Ya gotta expect the best for the Superbowl
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sterling Moore looks like our best cover guy right now.
Ihedigbo still blows and Arrington was off and on again.
How about Vince Wilfork, , Brandon Deaderick, Brandon Spikes, and Mark Anderson? Lots of guys deserve mention.
It is what it is
Moore the best?
He got blown away on the 39-yard TD.

He had a surprisingly-great game.
4.5 YPA is very good for him. If not for him or any of our Big-3 receivers(Welker/Gronk/Hernandez) we don’t win this game.
Pats need to draft a WR.
It is what it is
Draft? Not necessary
Get a receiver, sure. Draft? Eh. A significant number of guys will hit free agency next year, and it wasn’t like Boldin and Evans played badly for the Ravens, they were free agent pickups.

Slightly annoying whiners
Folks elsewhere on the Internet are claiming that this should have been a touchdown. It’s pretty silly considering that it was an automatic booth review, but you know how anti-Pats people are. The refs blew the game!!! There was pass interference and plus it was a TD anyways! OMFG Belicheat and Goodell conspiracy
Frankly the Ravens probably should have won this game. But this one’s not on the refs, they blew it all on their own. Plus Sterling Moore has amazing reflexes. Luckily it feels too good to be back in the big game to worry much about people who can’t lose with dignity.
by Aluminum Penguin on Jan 22, 2012 9:49 PM EST reply actions
It doesn't matter
I don’t think it was a TD, but it’s not the up to the Pats to make the calls, it’s up to the refs. Same with the Tuck Rule. Complain all they want about it, it’s not the Pats’ fault.
