"Revenge is a dish best served cold." From "Urban" Dictionary-Comes from an old Mafiosi saying. Tells that the best payback is the one that comes with planning, and brings the most horrendous pain to your enemies when they are not expecting. And are just enjoying the fruits of all the dishonor they brought upon you.

I could see how this could very well appeal to Patriot fans. I can sense the whole "let's get 'em feeling abounding on facebook and here.

I spit on the notion of revenge. There is nothing so cheap, so cold, so empty, and hollow as revenge. I won't lie, it can be satisfying sometimes. But I believe that revenge will tarnish what Myra Kraft's memory has meant to this season. She did not want Jason Peter playing for the Patriots because she thought it would set a bad example. I expect each and everyone to have their own take on this post. And this game. Super Bowl XLII has come and gone. And there is nothing in this world that will bring back an opportunity to be undefeated again. It was a significant moment for sure. But that day has passed. And truthfully, it made THIS opportunity possible. I strongly felt that NE was too young last season. And despite all the talking and worrying by many fans, I was confident that the Patriots would be on this stage this season. It was all they had left to do. Not get there, that is. But win it!

My faith in them was knowing the season wouldn't start until they made the playoffs. They did. And we really wouldn't know how good the team was until January rolled around. But now, for me, its all about honoring the memory of an inspiring woman. A woman who helped to cultivate a very large family that we all share in. This isn't about revenge for me. Because Myra Kraft's spirit is looking down upon this team.I can't even attach something so low to a purpose so high!

The whole essence of what I believe that she stood for, is echoed in the way this team goes about its business every week. Unselfish play, do your job, block out all outside noise. These are the Patriot Way. We can talk about legacies and revenge. But those are tangible things to be grasped at. And they fall to pieces as soon as you touch them. Super Bowl XLVI is about one thing for me. A victory for Myra. A victory for a woman who touched everyone she ever met. And some she has never known.
