Patriots Lead Jets 23-13 Headed into Fourth

For the second straight week, the Patriots are taking a ten point lead into the fourth quarter against their opponents. Today, following the second Brady to Gronkowski touchdown throw of the day, the Patriots lead the Jets 23-13 heading into the final period.

The Jets opened the second half with a long, bruising drive, but stalled within the ten and were held to just three points.

The Patriots then answered with their best drive of the game. The offense had been stalling all day, but was finally able to bring it together and put together a long, grinding drive that included several third down conversions. The drive lasted seven minutes, 15 plays, and was good for 83 yards.

After a defensive stop, the Patriots once again got the ball back, and are driving to begin the fourth. Unlike last week's game against the Seahawks, New England will look to put the Jets away quickly as possible.

Week 7: Jets Inactives vs. Patriots

The New York Jets have announced their inactives for their week seven match-up against the New England Patriots:

Greg McElroy, QB
Clyde Gates, WR
Bilal Powell, RB
Eric Smith, S
Caleb Schlauderaff, G
Sione Po'uha, DT
Kendrick Ellis, DT

Matt Ehalt of ESPN New York offers some perspective on the Jets' inactives:

Jets running back Joe McKnight is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. McKnight was questionable after suffering a high ankle sprain in last week's win against the Colts. He will be the backup to starter Shonn Greene, as fellow back Bilal Powell (shoulder) is inactive.

Having McKnight is also important for the Jets' special teams, as he is averaging 29.7 yards per return on kickoffs and has returned one for a touchdown. McKnight has rushed 10 times for 90 yards this year.

The Jets will not have the services of defensive tackles Sione Po'uha (low back) and Kenrick Ellis (knee), safety Eric Smith (knee), receiver Clyde Gates (shoulder), guard Caleb Schlauderaff and quarterback Greg McElroy. The Jets could have used Po'uha in the middle against a stout New England run game.
