Patriots vs. Giants: Truly a game of X-Factors

-Alas, our beloved Patriots have returned to the biggest stage after a hard-fought season. By some ironic twist of fate, a rematch against the Giants. At first thought, I was truly dreading this match-up due to the recent history between these two teams. But after a bit more thought, I began to like our chances.

-First, this is one of Belichick's best coaching jobs. The defense rotated two dozen players throughout the season, withstanding the barrage of injuries. The Patriots were near the top of the league in interceptions. We had a WR (Edelman) playing DB and he did a solid job for what the team needed. Sure, a lot of yards have been given up, but the defense has kept us in some games, too when the offense wasn't firing on all cylinders. This latest battle against the Raven's truly was a refreshing sight. Though I spent most of that afternoon cringing at our horrific offense, I was excited to see the defense playing in a fashion that was reminiscent of prior Patriot teams that made the same trip to the SB. I literally lost my breath watching those two interceptions by Spikes and later Moore to save our season.

-This game breeds a plethora of x-factors, making this year's SB quite interesting and a must see. Can the Patriots avenge their prior SB loss and subsequent regular season loss to the Giants? Can the Patriots defense contain the WR core of the Giants? How will the Patriot's offensive line deal with the Giant's pass rush? Are there other Patriots that can become potential heroes as Moore did? All phases of the game are equally important, however the most intriguing match-up will be the Patriots Defense vs the Giants Offense. Stuffing the run will go a long way to our secondary having better opportunities to intercept Manning. The only other question is can NE generate any pressure without having to blitz? If this feat can be achieved, NY will have a hell of a fight on their hands.

-Our defense is finally healthy and have been playing quite well as a unit. I'm truly excited to see how they'll perform. All others ought to know better than to count out NE's defense as it is now.
