According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots have indeed decided to part ways with wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. They were apparently trying to trade him all day today, but were unable to do so.

We awoke this morning to some alarming changes on Ochocinco's twitter page. At some point between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, Ochocinco removed "New England Patriots WR" from his Twitter bio, only to put it back later in the day. It was also suspicious to hear that he showed up at team facilities this morning only to leave shortly after for an apparent eye doctor appointment. All around a very confusing day.

In New England, Ochocinco worked very hard, but was unable to fully understand and fit into their system. In his only year with the Pats, Ocho caught 15 passes for 276 yards and a single touchdown. To sum it all up, an experiment gone wrong. We'll have much more on Ochocinco's release in the coming days.
