You guessed it: Chandler Jones is "#1" on our list of defenders to watch in tonight's preseason game against the Eagles.
Five players to watch on the defensive side of the ball as the Patriots prepare to take on the Eagles in their second preseason game:
Chandler Jones, DE: Simple question: can the rookie defensive end produce like he did in the preseason opener? He'll have an easier match-up in King Dunlap, and I'm sure the coaching staff will be looking to see if he can put together back-to-back strong performances. I know most fans will be looking for that.
Jake Bequette, DE: Bequette had a really strong week of practice after a so-so first preseason game. Bequette has a chance to crack the pass rush rotation, so it'll be intriguing to see whether or not he can carry the momentum he gained from practice this week into game action.
Ron Brace, DT: Entering his fourth year with little consistent production to his name, defensive tackle Ron Brace is far from a lock to make the final roster. That being said, he's had a solid training camp, and with Gerard Warren expected to miss tonight's game, this could be Brace's chance to make an impact.
Two more players to watch after the jump!
Brandon Spikes and the Linebackers: Brandon Spikes, finally healthy, is expected to make his preseason debut tonight. It will be interesting to see how healthy he looks, and if fans will finally get a look at the high-potential linebacker trio of Spikes, Jerod Mayo, and rookie Dont'a Hightower.
Nate Ebner, S: Similar to Jake Bequette, rookie safety Nate Ebner had a really strong week of practice leading up to tonight's game, making multiple interceptions in team drills. His flaw is his inexperience, so he will need to make the most of his extended game reps.
