NFL Preseason Week 2
New England Patriots (1-0) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)

Update: Ryan Mallett will start at quarterback tonight. It's certainly going to be a big opportunity for him, but this certainly isn't a vote of confidence. He has a lot to prove. If anything, this is a vote of confidence in Brian Hoyer, who the Patriots clearly trust as their back-up.
While Patriots fans won't get the chance to watch quarterback Tom Brady and many other key starters tonight against the Eagles, they certainly should get a good chance to watch many key back-ups and bubble players compete for regular season snaps and roster spots. Teams must cut down to 75 players one week from tonight, and with starters likely to play into the second half later this week against the Buccaneers, this could very well be the final chance for some bubble players to make a strong impression.
The Eagles, meanwhile, will be playing all of their starters tonight, and are expected to run with them into the second half. I'm not one for predicting scores to preseason games, but tonight could be a challenge for the Patriots' back-ups. Greg's Prediction: Patriots 17 Eagles 20
