Like a lot of you guys and gals, i was pretty bummed when i heard Demps was put on IR. But then my never stopping, except to figure out what to eat, brain began a rolling. What if the plan for Demps to be put on IR is quiet simply put, time for him to work with the strength and conditioning crew the patriots have. As spoke byHernando this offseason, he has managed to gain about ten pounds while also keeping the same amount of quickness and speed. This may have not been the idea when Demps arrived but, call it luck call it just fortunate, Demps 'injured his knee' on that little roll up. But was perfectly fine at the end of the game, while talking to reporters. Bill saw this as an opportunity for Demps to get some weeks under his belt behind closed doors, learn the play book and bulk up a little bit.
Think about it, Demps would get limited reps anyway, even as a returner, once people figure out that he is one cut away from breaking every run back, no one in their right mind is going to kick to him, unless we can somehow find that old Giants kicker who kicked to Jackson. BB probably seeing what Demps has brough so far in the limited preseason time, that he could very well be the real deal and BB was probably thinking, "hey, we want to be able to feel comfortable with this guy being our third down back".
I know what you guys are thinking, this guy might be on to something. And friends I think you are right I am on to something. Also think about it, Demps doesn't count as a roster spot right now on IR. So we pick up Nick McDonald for a little bit, put up Water's stuff in his locker and hope he comes back. But if he doesn't we can cycle in OL until someone gets tired, crossing our fingers its the opposing DL and not TB running for his life.
well gents feel free to discuss below. soon the real season will start and we will be left with actually talking real football, one can only wish.
