The Cards outplayed the pats, yet we still should have won the game.
And I'm not talking about the missed field goal either. While that was certainly a heart-breaker for most, there are more factors that are into our loss that we should not expect the rest of the season.
Gronkowski's missed TD catch, while difficult, could have been made with Gronk's large hands. If only....
Lloyd drops a key 3rd down catch while Brady was ON late in the game.
Punt got blocked which resulted in the only Cardinals TD. Game should have been 19-13, pats win. Ah well.
But as I said, we were outplayed for the most part. Our OL played horribly, but came on late in the game when Vollmer was back in. Give credit to the Card's defense. They were proving a statement to the media. Very good front 7, and good secondary, and they did enough to hold the pats to one TD in the game.
Defensively we were really good. Again, the cards only points came on after a blocked punt. Certainly can't expect that much at all. We did decent against the run, but I could point out that our defense was on the field A LOT in the game because of early offensive struggles. Our pass defense did really well too, shutting down Fitzgerald, and keeping the passing plays in front of them. Overall a very good job, however their offense is average.
We should have won this game. So that's why I'm not too upset about it. WHile my prediction was way off, the outcome was easily in the Pats favor. But two bad executions were enough to win the game for the Cards, and Brady's Herndo-less offense needs to perform better when we face the Ravens next week. Hell, they need to perform better for the season. Loosing Hernandez was a big blow, and I hope he is okay.
Loosing a game in the beginning of the season, especially a game we should have won, should humble our team. We still have 14 more games to be played, so I hope they start executing with more efficiency in each one.
