Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
I quickly ran through the numbers- and it seems as if the New England Patriots have set a franchise record for more players recording 100+ yards from scrimmage in a single game.
The New England Patriots showed resilience (I walked away in disgust for a bit when they were down 21-7) and were able to pull through in historic fashion.
Brandon Bolden - 17 touches, 148 yards, 1 TD
Wes Welker - 9 touches, 129 yards
Stevan Ridley - 22 touches, 106 yards, 2 TDs
Rob Gronkowski - 5 touches, 104 yards, 1 TD
Four players recorded over 100 yards for the Patriots. Four.
The last time the New England Patriots had 3+ players rack up 100+ yards from scrimmage was the 59-0 romp in the snow against the Tennessee Titans in October of 2009.
The last time they had four? Never (as far as I can tell).
Never before, in the regular season or the playoffs, have four New England Patriots notched 100+ yards from scrimmage in the same game. Well, this was one heck of a game to do so.
Congratulations to the Patriots for pulling out a win and for setting a team record.
