Dennard, Dobson Back at Practice

Jim Rogash

After a major injury scare, both Aaron Dobson and Alfonzo Dennard were present at Patriots practice this morning.

The Patriots may have won last Sunday, but they also lost as well.

The big story, of course, was Vince Wilfork blowing out his Achilles and likely being done for the season. However, receiver Aaron Dobson suffered what looked like a brutal neck injury during the game, and cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was also seen limping off the field late in the fourth quarter, not to return. There are only so many hits this team can take.

Luckily, it would appear that the only injury that was serious was Wilfork's. While Wilfork obviously remains out of commision, almost certainly for the year, both Dennard and Dobson were both spotted at practice this morning as the Patriots begin preparations for the Cincinnati Bengals. This is certainly a good sign, as neither player even needed any extra time to manage their respective injuries. I don't know what it was that hobbled Dennard on Sunday, but since nobody has heard anything about it I have reason to believe he just experienced some cramping. New England will need as many healthy bodies as possible heading into Cincy to face a Bengals team that can be dangerous should they get rolling.

Stevan Ridley was a notable absence from practice today, for reasons undisclosed. Something to monitor for sure.
