Today, the New England Patriots and the New York Jets will face off for the second time this season. Of course, the story of the day, from a Patriots perspective, is going to be the return of tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is officially active for the first time this season.
The Jets are improved from where they were at in week two, but I think the Patriots are as well. I'm a bit worried about the Jets and the running game. The Saints never made a full commitment to it against the Patriots last week, but I think Rex Ryan will continually run the ball between the tackles with Bilal Powell.
Ultimately, this is the type of game that you want to see the Patriots come out and make a statement. Rob Gronkowski won't alleviate all of the team's concerns on offense, but he will help. If the Patriots are to be a true Super Bowl contender, they need to take a step forward today on the road against a division rival.
