Week 5 is upon us and the first AFCE matchup for the Bengals is this week. The Patriots Bengals matchup will be intriguing, as both teams are missing key pieces.

The Bengals are missing Michael Johnson, our run stopping DE, and Leon Hall, our #1 CB that goes into the slot when we call it. Back this week is an anchor to our secondary, Reggie Nelson, FS. Our D looked really bad without our top 2 defensive backs last week, but one of them is back. I expect Amendola to make some big plays in the slot, but Nelson to make some plays like he usually does.

Ghee, who filled in for an injured Hall last week, is injured this week. Ghee is talented, but can't stay healthy through an entire game. We will be relying on KirkPatrick, a former first round pick that has all indications of a bust, to cover Amendola.

Our only cover LBer is out until week 8, so any talent you guys have could have a big day. Burfict is good in coverage, but isn't shutdown like Lamur was.

Our offense will thrive or die based on Dalton's performance. Most likely, Brady will get into a rhythm with Amendola versus our secondary, so we need a big performance out of Dalton. Doesn't seem likely, as he hasn't looked go so far this season and his TD:INT ratio is the worst this season than either of his first two seasons.

What you guys will need to account for is our TEs and Bernard. Bernard has the second most yards from scrimmage of any rookie and the best comparison I can make to him is C.J. Spiller. If Bernard can keep up his production (on limited touches, as well), he will be recognized as one of the best scat back in the league. Eifert and Gresham are very good seam stretchers and Eifert has turned into a reliable 1st down machine, while Gresham is much better at getting open deep and creating YAC. Both are good blockers, so the D will not be able to guess we are passing or running if both of them are out on the field.

As for WR, we only have one worth mentioning. A.J. Green, imo, is the second best WR in the league. His QB can't hit him on half the plays he has a step or two on the double team deep, so his numbers and TDs aren't as good as they should be. If we could find a good #2 WR, any QB that goes into our offense will find an ideal situation.
