Our Offensive and Defensive lines could be a problem

Well we knew we had no depth on the defensive line and both Wilfork and Kelly (hopefully not too bad) going down is huge problem. Teams will be going on 4 and 1 until we can prove we cans stop it. Not sure what the answer is, but we will see teams trying to run more. For the first time in as long as i can remember the passing D looks a lot better than the running D. Think Spikes will have to be back in the middle to help, but that wont be enough in short yardage. What schemes do we use going forward 3 4 or 3 3 5 with big safety. If Kelly is out long this will be a problem as we have no big bodies.

On offense the middle of our line hasn't played well. Granted we have played good defenses, but in the playoffs that is what you'll face. Any good defensive front has given us fits in both the running and passing game. Cinccy killed Brady up the middle and if Brady cannot step up he gets a lot less accurate. Running game gets stuffed repeatedly as well, no play action. I think its more of a center right guard problem and think we need to make a change. I am not sure how good Svitek is, and I would like to see more beef in the middle. Canon I know is slated as backup tackle, but can play guard and is listed at 335. Why not give him a shot on the right side and see if he can do some damage. Worst case he cant be moved or best case he gets a nice push.

As it stands now our lines our not playoff caliber. I guarantee you two of our first 3 picks next year will be linemen. It is an area of need and age is starting to show.
