Big Shot out to all my Pats Friends...WHO DAT!
Both of our teams have had interesting seasons to say the least. Well, we survived our controversies, and I'm sure y'all will too. Moving on, we are about to face each other for the first time since 2009, if my rememberer is working correctly, and it often doesn't. I for one, have always like and respected the way, the Pats do things, and it there is another team out there, closer to our own philosophies, I don't know who it is.
First let me speak to our Defense, who no one at the beginning of the season, seemed to distinguish with last years, which was, well, LAST.
The definition of insanity, is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. So, to but it plainly, we didn't. What we did do was hire Rob Ryan, you know the other Ryan brother, and largely stick with the cast of players, we had last year. That said, the D will not be the same ones you faced last year. Jonathan Vilma is IRD and hasn't played a snap yet. Will Smith, who I think was wrongly moved to OLB, is out for the season. Victor Butler who we brought in was taken out during training camp, by our own RB, Mark Ingram. Patrick Robinson, who was actually having one of his best seasons, of course, is on IR as well with a Knee injury.
This forced us into a youth movement of sorts. I suspect that has a lot to do with our turnaround. The young guys and former backups, are making the most of their opportunities.
On the O we lost Joe Morgan, last years burner WRer, to IR, but we have picked up Kenny Stills, who we are expecting big things out of, once he a Drew develop their timing a little better. Lance Moore has been having a disappointing season this year, and of course with Sean Payton, you will never know the severity of his hand injury, until they amputate.
Colston has been his usually dependable self, even suffering from the dreaded Plantar Fasciitis.
On the O-line we have Charles Brown, replacing Bushrod, and he has struggled, at times. Drew has already been sacked 14 times this year, more than half of what we usually allow in a season.
Javari Evans, has been dealing with a back injury, and now a hamstring, as well. He has had several penalties, which cost us in the RZ, because he isn't 100%. In fact we had an UDFA, Rookie playing in his stead, at times.
Our running game has yet to get on track, and while many are calling for Mark Ingram's head, it is obvious, the Line has a lot to do, with the lack of production.
Well that should give y'all a good outline, so ask any questions that come to mind. Good Luck with the rest of your season, after Sunday, of course.
One of You Fans should pop over to Canal Street Chronicles, and do one of these there.
