Ask a Dolphins fan - rematch edition

Hey there Pats fans. Once again, our two favorite teams will face off against each other, and the stakes are fairly high for both sides. With a Patriots win, they will clinch the division and will be in great position for a 1st round bye. However, a Dolphins win puts them at 8-6, and favorites for the final wild card spot, as well as giving them their first game against the pats since 2008. Both teams will be vying for the win here, and it should be a great game.

So, here's some info on the Phins to get us started:

1. Tannehill has stepped up in a big way recently, playing an instrumental role in getting the dolphins to bounce back from their 3-4 start. The biggest improvement has been in the 4th quarter, as he has been able to close out games a lot better. In addition, he has started running the ball a lot better, putting up a career high 48 yard run off of a zone read play last week. Tannehill has always been a good runner, but the coaches haven't been calling many runs for him up until recently. Another improvement has been in the leadership aspect. For the past two weeks, every Phins player has praised tannehill, talking about how the teamlooks up to him. However, he still has far to go, as his pocket presence is still developing and he still throws a couple of WTF passes every game, usually on short inside routes where he telegraphs the play from the beginning.

2. The running game and O-line has Finally hit their groove. Daniel Thomas and sam brenner have been pleasant surprises, with Thomas running hard the past few weeks and Brenner stepping up as a UDFA rookie and filing in for the suspended incognito very admirably.

3. Fear the pass rush. Of course you already know about Cameron wake, but we finally have someone who can play robin to his batman, and its not 3rd overall pick Dion Jordan, who hasn't had the opportunities needed to put up big numbers, but still makes impact plays. The guy you need to worry about is sophomore DE Olivier Vernon, who leads the team in sacks and is top 5 in the league in sacks. Vernon, though physically not the most imposing DE in the world, has an unstoppable motor and has taken advantage of the double teams wake and our DTs demand.

All in all, I'm expecting a dolphins win, with my homer prediction being that the Phins win 27-23. If you guys have any question, post below, and I, or any other Phinsiders that drop by will try to answer them to the best of our abilities.
