The Patriots SB chances have always rested in this….
The offense. It’s always been the offense. The only way the patriots are going to advance and ultimately win a SB is if they have 2 things. Playmakers on defense and playmakers on offense. As we saw on Sunday ‘s 41-7 crushing on the formerly playoff bound Baltimore Ravens, we have enough decent playmakers on defense to win a SB. Not a lot, not enough to win without some help from the offense, but enough. Guys like Jones, Niko, Collins, Talib, Dennard, and Logan Ryan can all make big plays.
However the thing we really don’t have right now is playmakers on offense. Gronk was a big playmaker and kept the offense scoring points when they needed it. We have had to go without him in the biggest game of the season almost every year. Right now we only have Veeren and Edelman as definite playmakers in the passing game. That’s it. That’s not good enough. We desperately need someone else to emerge. I see those guys as Stevan Ridley running the ball and Kenbrell Thompkins or Dobson (but unlikely) as a #3 option. Our season rests in those guys hands.
