Welker is a great player, but he can't carry the load ecspecially with Gronkowski undependable in terms of health. Welker is not going to make any Lynn Stallworth type catches for you ecspecially when you need them the most. He's a very good solid receiver as long as you hit him in the numbers. We can keep Edelman for a lot less to fill the slot role. He's younger and in my opinion has shown himself to have more upside than Welker. He plays with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. He can definately thrive in the Pats system. For less money we can bring in a younger guy like Hartline or Amendola. No one can say they can't be as good.

Another guy who I would strongly consider as an upgrade to our special teams is Joshua Cribbs. We should let Polite go and bring in Hillis. He's still pretty young and is one of the most punishing runners in the league when given a chance. He had the bad luck of playing behind Jamaal Charles last year. He could definatley help us in short yardage and blocking situations. He could even carry the load like he did in Cleveland if Ridley is out. Vareem is not an every down back. Bolden could be if he stays health.

Big mistake last year not keeping Dallas Clark. He made some big plays for TD's last year in Tampa. He could have helped us down the stretch with Gronk out.

Wilfork needs some help, since he is always getting double teamed. Why not go after Sopaaga. We need some more beef on the defensive line. It might stop us from getting pushed around like we did in a few games this year by teams with big offensive lines.
