Patriots Sign Fourth Round Pick Josh Boyce

USA Today Sports

The Patriots continue to work through signing their draft picks, agreeing to terms with wide receiver Josh Boyce, their fourth round pick out of TCU.

On Friday, the New England Patriots came to terms with wide receiver Josh Boyce, their fourth pick in the 2013 Draft, on a four-year contract. The former TCU receiver will earn about $2.64 million, including a $477,000 signing bonus.

Boyce stayed only three years at TCU, but he etched his name as one of the best receivers in school history. Last season, he caught 66 passes for 891 yards and seven touchdowns. He also impressed several teams, including the Patriots, during the NFL combine; earning top marks at his postion in the 40-yard dash, bench press, broad jump, 3-cone drill and the 60-yard shuttle.

Once he recovers from his foot injury, Boyce will likely project as a solid outside receiver for New England. He, along with fellow rookie Aaron Dobson, will look to fill the role of "deep threat", something we haven't seen since Randy Moss was here. These two, along with newly signed Danny Amendola, will likely be the core receivers for many years to come.

With the Boyce signing, the Patriots only have two more rookies to sign: Dobson, their second-round choice and Michael Buchanan, their sixth-round selection.
