The New England Patriots will hold their eighth training camp practice early this Saturday morning, which should see an increase in intensity with the Patriots having a scheduled off-day tomorrow. Weather is expected to be overcast this morning, with a slight chance of showers. And hey, it's also Tom Brady's birthday.
Three things we'll be on the look-out for this session:
1. There's a few injury situations to monitor. Ras-I Dowling, Marcus Cannon and Jermaine Cunningham were held out yesterday, while Shane Vereen pulled up hurt during practice. Who goes and who is held out?
2. With Nick McDonald being suddenly released two days ago, what does it mean for the competition along the interior line? The Patriots haven't been afraid to go with 8 linemen in the past, but could someone step up to claim a back-up role inside?
3. Julian Edelman has had a couple of strong practices since returning Thursday. But is he going to move up the depth chart? Are the top spots still being held down by the rookies?
