The Patriots don’t have Welker, Gronk and Hern to shred the Jets' Defense anymore.... in fact the Patriots look like they will be without many of the players they depended on to replace that production, as Amendola, Vereen and Dobson all look like they will be out with injuries in this game.
Jets defensive end Mo Wilkerson likes his team’s chances. Wilkerson told Bob Glauber of Newsday that he believes the Jets will knock off the Patriots and earn their second win of the season.
"I don’t see why we won’t be 2-0," Wilkerson said. "I’m confident in our coaching staff to have a great game plan and us being 2-0."
Wilkerson also said on WFAN that "We’re going to go to Foxboro and get this win. . . . We’re going to be 2-0,"
Jets new RG Willie Colon said "Personally, I’m tired of us being considered as jokes. We’ve got a lot of great ballplayers and a lot of guys with pride on this team. It’s time for us to start knocking people’s doors down, one by one.’’
Asked if he believes his team can defeat the Patriots, Cromartie said: "Yes I really do. The guys in the locker room are ready to go."
Nothing too brash or belligerent yet, but it is there just under the surface, this Jets team seems eager to meet the Patriots this Thursday night.
