Patriots vs. Bills preview

The start of the NFL season has finally arrived, and New England opens up their season against the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium Sunday September at 1:00 pm EST.

The Bills offseason has not been the greatest. They drafted Florida State quarterback E.J. Manuel in the first round of the draft, who they hope will be their franchise quarterback of the future. This is one of the only good moves the Bills did in the offseason. The signing of quarterback Kevin Kolb did not do them any good, because he is already on injured-reserve due to a major concussion suffered in a preseason game. Running Back C.J. Spiller will be the workhorse for Buffalo this season due to their lack of a good receiving corps. Wide Receiver Stevie Johnson made some noise in the media by stating on Monday that "the Patriots have nobody that can cover me". It will be interesting to see how cornerback Aqib Talib reacts to that statement on the field during the game. The question that is still up in the air is whether rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel or undrafted rookie free agent Jeff Tuel will start on Sunday. Manuel would be the safer choice for them, but that is for the Bills to decide.

The New England Patriots should have no problem handling the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. With their balanced offensive attack, their offense will pick the Bills defense apart and they will have a tough time trying to stop this offense. I can see Danny Amendola having a very productive game against the Buffalo secondary as well as rookie wide-outs Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins. Overall, the Patriots should cruise to victory in this matchup.
