Forecasting the 2014 Season of the New England Patriots Week to Week

Week 1, at Miami: Win, barely

The Patriots lost the last time they faced Miami. If they had won that game they would have been the 1sr seed in the AFC, would have been hosting Denver instead of going there where the weather was perfect, and we would have at least seen two teams playing in the Super Bowl. The Patriots may not have all of their guys fully healed but the lack of cohesion and talent on the Miami OL will give the Patriots opportunities to pressure Tannehill and their run game.

Week 2, at Minnesota: Win

NE's pairing of Wilfork and Siliga will have their chance to prove that two NTs are better than one. With the Vikings either running with Cassell or a green Bridgewater the Pats should have a chance to brave a tough beginning of the season.

Week 3 home-opener, Oakland: Win

The Patriots finally get a home game and it's against the Oakland Raiders. Chandler Jones matches up well with their new LT Donald Penn. With so many holes remaining throughout both units the Pats won't have a problem beating these guys into submission.

Week 4, at Kansas City: Loss

A hot start to the season begins to cool off. A trip out to Kansas City to face Andy Reid doesn't go as the Patriots may have planned. I think it'll be a close loss with Brady taking advantage of everyone in the KC secondary not named Eric Berry but that talent up front will be hard to contend with.

Week 5, Cincinnati: Win, barely

The Patriots lost last year when they faced the Bengals in Cincinnati. The chance for revenge comes to Foxboro and coming off the loss the Pats take care of business. Questions persist about Andy Daltoff.

Week 6, at Buffalo Bills: Win, barely

These games are always close. The Bills will regret shipping off Stevie so they can lean on Sammy Watkins producing well as a rookie. Maybe Mike Williams turns it around but I don't see it. Without Jairus Byrd or Kiko Alonso I see the Pats hitting that quick-strike tempo to slow down the Williams Brothers.

Week 7 Thursday, New York Jets: Win, barely

The first game between New York and New England is always a close one. Darrelle Revis doesn't let it get away from us.

Week 8. Chicago Bears: Win

Finally, Darrelle Revis and Brandon Marshall once more will match up to face one another. It would also be something to see Dennard and Alshon Jeffrey match up again. The last time those two faced off it turned into a fist fight at the Senior Bowl just before the 2012 draft. The lack of talent at LB(outside of Lance Briggs) and Safety dooms them against Brady's quick-strike.

Week 9, Denver Broncos: Win, barely

The New England tour of revenge continues. It'll be a crime against football for this game to not get flexed to the primetime hour.

The BYE Week, Patriots at 8-1

Week 11, at Indianapolis: Win

It's not Peyton's place anymore. Andrew Luck continues to try to finally beat New England but once more Belicbhick gets the best of him. It also doesn't help that the Colts Defense is in complete shambles.

Week 12, Detroit: Win, barely

Detroit loves spanking New England in the preseason. Finally the Pats get some revenge in a close one.

Week 13, at Green Bay: Loss

The last time Green Bay played New England was on the road. It was a close one in a game they almost won without Aaron Rdogers. New England plays admirably, they really never loss by a lot, but it's just not enough as Aaron Rodgers continues to make the case that he's right now the best QB in football.

Week 14, at San Diego: Loss

Controversy! New England flies out west and gets this game robbed from them. It's a very close loss that comes down to some crazy call or noncall that favors the home team. New England losses two in a row. They'll survive.

Week 15, Miami: Win

By now the Patriots interior-DLs are healthier and wreaking havoc on that pathetic unit. Maybe Pouncey returns, maybe he's still injured, maybe even suspended. Either way the Patriots aren't going to loss three in a row and take it out at home against the Phins.

Week 16, at New York: Win

Last year Darrelle Revis went back to New York and almost left with a W. Instead, Lavonte David committed a stupid penalty that cost Tampa Bay the game. The last time New England faced New York they were on the road and the game was decided by a stupid penalty. This time neither Revis nor the Patriots will be robbed. Revenge is theirs.

Week 17 season finale, Buffalo: Win

Patriots have momentum having come together following the back-to-back losses versus Green Bay and San Diego on the road.

7 easy wins, 6 tougher wins, and 3 losses with 2 of them being in the conference to AFCW teams not named Denver. For all that talk about New England not being on top of the AFCE forever the Pats manage to sweep their division. New England is 13-3 and have a bye secured. What else is new?
