The first half of the game is in the books and it's a 10-10 tie between the Patriots and the Giants.
On offense, the Patriots struggled to be consistent. The offensive line was unable to give Jimmy Garoppolo consistent time against the Giants 1st and 2nd string defense, and Garoppolo threw more than a few passes at the wrong jersey. Josh Boyce and Aaron Dobson looks lackadaisical on their routes, and James White was unable to generate much on the ground.
The Patriots defense has looked sturdy and held Eli Manning to a pair of quick three-and-outs. That said, there was plenty of room for improvement due to weak tackling in the secondary (specifically Duron Harmon), as well the inability to control the line of scrimmage.
Some special players of note would be Josh Kline who received the starting nod at left guard, who played well, but also gave up the pressure on Garoppolo's first quarter interception. Alfonzo Dennard saw time at safety and in the slot, adding more fuel to the Patriots 4-CB secondary packages which we'll be seeing this season.
Let's hope we can finish the game without injury. Please use this thread for the second half!
