The last few days have been pretty busy for the New England Patriots. The team has released former first round draft selection Dominique Easley, re-signed running back LeGarrette Blount and saw its 2016 schedule announced. But while those stories garnered the most attention, they were not the only ones being written.
Take running back Tyler Gaffney. The 24-year old was released by the Patriots on Monday but is back on the team now, after getting re-signed yesterday (via Mike Reiss):
Three days after releasing him, the Patriots announce the re-signing of RB Tyler Gaffney.
The former Stanford Cardinal gives New England another between-the-tackles runner to compete with Blount. Gaffney, who was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft has spent the last two seasons on injured reserve but will apparently get a chance to show his worth over the course of the summer.

Re-signing Gaffney was not the only move the Patriots have made yesterday. According to Doug Kyed, the team has also parted ways with linebacker/special teamer Eric Martin:
The Patriots waived OLB Eric Martin, per source.
After going undrafted in 2013 and spending time with the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns, he 24-year old linebacker joined the Patriots late in 2014. During his time in Foxboro, Martin has appeared in four games, mostly as a special teamer.
