Jamie Collins, the Patriots linebacker that makes up one of the best Bash-Brothers linebacker tandems in the NFL with Dont’a Hightower, is a man of few words. Collins is, however, a man of many tattoos, and he showed off one this week that pays homage to one of the most subsersively entertaining characters – and greatest acting performances – of the last decade.
Collins, who rarely gives interviews, but occasionally posts on Instagram and Twitter, posted this close-up of his forearm art on Wednesday:
Note the caption of the Joker’s ominous "Why so serious?" line that’s arguably the most memorable part of The Dark Knight…and, oh yeah, that it appears to be written in blood.
Unlike the Clown Prince of Crime, Jamie Collins famously goes out of his way to avoid calling attention to himself – he often leaves the locker room before the media gets there, and after Super Bowl XLIX, he even told his hometown that he respectfully declined their offer for a parade in his honor.
Collins has gone from a head-scratching second-round draft pick in 2013 to a Pro Bowler in 2015, not to mention Pro Football Focus’s fourth-best linebacker last season.
Here’s hoping the Patriots open the checkbook to keep Jamie in New England after next season.
