Tom Brady Will Never Be The Same Again

It wasn't all that long ago a person would be hard pressed to find an article dissing Tom Brady. Even in towns of rival teams. You rarely heard any gossip involving him. Just mention of a sighting via the Inside Track or NY Post. Every once in a while he could be found at an opening with his actress GF Bridget Moynahan. He could walk down the street, eat in a restaurant, go bowling, see a movie & golf with little or no fanfare. He was glorified as a genuine 'nice guy'. The proverbial boy-next-door. Indeed he came across to the casual observer as somewhat shy. And keep in mind that this would have described him as recently as last fall. That Tom Brady seems to no longer exist.

He has been replaced by a cocky, petulant, selfish, bonified celebrity. In just a matter of 7 months he has dumped his GF of 3 years, become an expectant father to that same woman, taken up with an international model(who seems to share his penchant for selfishness), distanced himself from his supposedly close family, and become a jetsetter. And for the first time since joining the NFL, he does not eat, drink and sleep football. What does all of this mean for the New England Patriot's? Let's just say it does not seem to bode well for them.  Oh sure, the Kraft image machine is in full on alert for Brady. Assuring us all that he's right there, working hard. But I disagree. He is here, there and everywhere with this model he seems gobsmacked by. But there have been very few sightings of him in Boston. In the past seven years he would be totally geared up by this point. Studying films and the play book, immersed in deep discussions with the coaching staff, mixing it up with his teammates. Bonding with the rookies. NONE of that is taking place this off-season. Every time we see or hear of him he is in photos gazing adoringly at Bundchen. I mean WTF?  This is nuts. Add to that something that noone, including Brady himself, wants to address head on...The pending birth of his first child by his estranged ex GF. On the west coast. Hey, let me be the first to go out on a limb here. I don't think he wants anything to do with this kid. He not only doesn't display any of the usual joy most new dads-to-be feel, he also seems angry. Very angry. At Moynahan AND the unborn child. As far as we know he has not involved himself in anything to do with the pregnancy. I'm sorry, but that is not normal behavior for a man like we thought Brady to be. So here's the crux of it. If I'm right and he wants nothing to do with this child, that's pretty much tough noogies. His fans and the Boston press may turn a blind eye to dumping one GF for another(even though the former is pregnant), but a baby is a different ballgame altogether. He will be expected to fawn over this infant. The same fans and press will crucify him if he doesn't. Everyone loses it over a cute baby. So even though the exact date is not known by the public, by the looks of her recent pics it's not too far off. Pre-season starts soon. If he stays to play instead of attending the birth of his first child...he's toast. If he goes, most likely his spoiled, self-centered model isn't gonna be too pleased. And right now she seems to be all he thinks about. Which raises another point. Presumably, as soon as he starts practicing for the pre-season, he should be completely immersed in the goal of reaching and winning a fourth SB. That's roughly 7 months. No more time for his needy model. Come on, we all know what it's like. She's not used to be ignored. Her ex(and supposed love of her life)Leo D, is in NYC filming. Then he'll be in Los Angelas while she's filming her movie with Tom Hanks. It's not like he can trust her. This all translates into a doomed bid for a Super Bowl win. Mark my words. Just remember where you read it folks.

So everything would be fine ...
... if he stayed with Moynahan. Is that your contention? And that's why the Patriots won't win a Super Bowl. Is this really the argument you're posing? We'll start there before addressing the rest of your unsubstantiated allegations.

Just once, I'd like someone to structure a logical argument and provide supporting documentation.

Tom Brady Will Never Be The Same Again
The truth can be pretty scary can't it? Don't try that "prove it" crap with me that others let you get away with. You're not stupid. You read and see all that's out there about the Pat's the same as I do. If you're trying to tell me you haven't seen the photos of Brady and this chick(perhaps we should start calling her Yoko), you're full of it. They and the articles accompanying them are dated. He can't be out and about all over the country and in Boston at the same time. And football does seem to be the furthest thing from his mind this off-season. And you know it. And you know what else? The Pat's know it to. Why else would they have bothered to refute those claims last month? It was in the Herald. Look it up man.

Same old Tom Brady
First things first. Don't tell us to "look it up." You're the one making wild allegations. If you know of some supporting evidence, provide it. I don't even know how I can find some vague insinuation on the Herald's site when you haven't specified what I'm supposed to be searching for.You say photos and stories are dated, provide links. I'm not going to search for what I don't know to exist.

You must produce some kind of legitimate and verifiable (meaning we can find it independently) source that:

  • says Brady broke up with Moynahan. (Otherwise, the rest of your argument is baseless.)
  • says Moynahan tried to reconcile with Brady or otherwise demonstrates she wanted them to be married or that she even wants him to be deeply involved with raising the child.
  • says Brady wants nothing to do with the impending child.
  • says Brady, as you say, "distanced himself from his supposedly close family."
  • has evidence that Brady has not been in Foxboro the way he's always been. (I guess all that TV footage of minicamp was doctored and every media outlet is in on the massive conspiracy?)
Also, please explain how Brady is different from all the other celebrities you worship that have multiple marriages and divorces and children by multiple spouses and girl-/boyfriends.

Incidentally, I thought Brady bought a $14 million condo in New York to be closer to Moynahan, so what's this "West Coast" stuff?

"Don't pull that 'prove it' crap" is exactly what you expect to hear from someone in a defenseless position.

Maybe you subscribe to the Mike Nifong School of Character Assassination. In my experience, the only reason someone has not to provide supporting documentation is because there isn't any. The usual response you get to a request for evidence is: "If you don't believe it, look it up!" as if the burden of proof is on the accused, not the accuser.

I've heard (unfounded rumors, of course) that the "Brady propaganda machine" has been "planting hateful stories in the media" about Moynahan. Strangely enough, the only story I've heard from either side that would made the other look poor in the public eye was the vicious (and, again, unfounded) rumor that Bundchen was pregnant. But, of course, that couldn't have come from the angelic Moynahan .. or her friends .. or her uninformed and spiteful fans.

Don't waste your time with this troll
You know anything you say will make no difference to him/her. You also know s/he is just trying to get a rise out of people here. Just ignore him/her and ban if necessary.

4 days later, intellectual challenge met w/silence
No surprise there, right?

I know what they were trying to do, RSNexile. I just want them to know that the intelligent congregation at Pats Pulpit is not going to get into baseless, inane "He said, she said" discussions. And when you challenge them on facts, they have none.

I visited the site from whence the trolls came, where inane is a Life Philosophy. Big waste of time. Like I said in my post 3 weeks ago, I'll never understand the infatuation people have with celebrities lives. Maybe it's just that I have a life of my own.

Tom Brady Will Never Be The Same Again
FINALLY an honest discussion about our "former" golden boy.  My spouse and I have discussed his BIZARRE behavior for months, but the New England press corps seems to be in a blind stupor on this one.  Tom is in some sort of Svengali-like grip by the supermodel, totally distracted, and chosing celebrity over his game.  And his gross neglect of Bridget and his unborn child speaks of a deep disturbance at his core.  To pretend none of this will impact his game - or that a pregnant ex and illegitimate baby are NO BIG DEAL - is absurd. Thanks, tebisaloser, for having the guts to state the obvious.

Tom Brady Will Never Be The Same Again
This is the best most honest discussion of what the Patriots feel is their golden boy.   Gisele is Tom's Delilah.   He is throwing away everything that was important to him to be with her, including his family - most importantly his firstborn child.   There is no way he is going to be the same person on the field.   He has become a spoiled narcissic petulant boy and that will spill over to his game.   When Tom can't handle the pressure he gets angry and when you get angry you get out of control.   If he doesn't step up to the plate and be a man when the baby is born, he is going to have an A-Rod type circus whenever he is out in public.   Already he is hiding under a hat everytime he walks out his door.   All this pressure is going to affect his game - he is only human and not a very nice human at that!

Do these people know the slightest thing
about football? Brady has attended all off-season workouts-- vountary and involuntary-- just as he has every other off-season. Because he prefers to try to keep his private life private you idiots claim he doesn't care about his unborn child, yet you would complain if he was talking about the situation that he would be "disrespecting" his former girlfriend. He is not seeking the spotlight with his new girlfriend or trying to embarass his ex. Paparazzi simply take pictures of him walking down the street. The best picture will be Brady, his fourth Super Bowl trophy, and his new baby. Then all these morons can go back to their gossip blogs.

No need to resort to name-calling
Keep it respectable, please. Other than that, I'll address comments here tonight, as I cannot spend time on this while being functionally productive at work.
