New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady admitted to be recovering from surgery he had last week.
Neither he nor the team, which also confirmed the occurrence of the procedure, would say what kind of operation was performed, but it's been widely suspected to have been an attempt to correct a sports hernia or other groin injury.
Brady, 28, was in Miami on Tuesday playing in Dan Marino's celebrity invitational golf tournament. Brady was not teeing off and was taking easy swings elsewhere on the course.
In a brief address of the topic, Brady said, "I just had surgery last week, so I'm just trying to take it easy a little bit on the hard swings."
Complete recovery is expected within 6 to 8 weeks.
Brady skipped the NFL Pro Bowl on Feb. 12, citing injury. He reportedly played a large portion of the season with the injury.
