Harrison Out; 5 Questionable
Watson, Wilfork Have Missed 3 Weeks
Waves of anger and nausea still flow over me when I think of that take-out block Tennessee's Bobby Wade threw on New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison.
After working for nearly a full year to recover from three torn ligaments in his right knee, Harrison comes back and is just getting back to his old self when he breaks a shoulder blade. Last weeek, Harrison finally got back to "probable" and got into the game.
But, knowing Harrison's past injury, the Titans pit bulls went after his knees like he had a couple of steaks wrapped around them.
And now Harrison is sidelined indefinitely again with a strained ligament in his right knee. While James Sanders has played pretty well in Harrison's stead, the veteran will be sorely missed this week.
Harrison broke his shoulder blade in the game preceding the last Patriots-N.Y. Jets matchup in November.
That meeting is also notable for the absence of Ty Warren, and for Richard Seymour, who was listed as "questionable" and was still playing with a humongus brace-cast on his elbow, moving to the opposite side of the defensive line to fill Warren's spot.
This time, Warren is healthy and Seymour is very close to "normal", but Vince Wilfork, the man in the middle, is still listed as "questionable" and his missed the last three games. Mike Wright has been outstanding in relief, and after a few weeks is finally of the injury report himself.
Tight end Ben Watson, running back Kevin Faulk and wide receiver Bam Childress remain listed as "questionable." The Jets have 10 players, most notably WR Laveranues Coles and cornerback Andre Dyson, listed as "questionable" as well.
