Happy Birthday, Devil Dogs!
232 Years of Achieving and Defending Freedom

Happy 232nd Birthday to the
United States Marine Corps
"From the halls of Montezuma ..."

Two hundred thirty-two years ago in Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, the Continental Congress resolved to create a corps of naval infantry and formed the Continental Marines nearly 8 months before the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Since then, the United States Marine Corps has led efforts in every military conflict in this great country's history.

Great men and women from every walk of life, from every race, ethnicity and creed across this land, continue to protect our shores and defend our freedoms whenever the call is issued. I am proud to count myself among them.

God bless them for the obligation they have taken upon themselves and the honor with which they carry it.

Semper Fidelis, Brothers and Sisters. Stay safe out there.

Here's a fantastic annual tribute to the Marines produced by GoDaddy.com.

Finally, thanks to all who have worn (and those who currently wear) the uniforms of the United States of America armed services. We are indebted to your efforts. Happy Veterans Day.
