Open Thread: New England Patriots vs. Philadelpha Eagles, Week 12

New, comments

Gillette Stadium will be ringing tonight. But they guy that "joked" that Philadelphia should "get their rings back" is going to be sitting on the sideline. Donovan McNabb, who thinks everything that happens to him is someone else's fault, couldn't hack in Super Bowl XXXIX, and he's not even taking the field tonight. That's a shame.

All the talk surrounding this game has been about the point spread and how high it can go. Yahoo! Sports has it at 24, and it's 24½ in some places. Even so, only 3 percent of voters in our poll think this game will have the highest point spread for the rest of the season. (Thirty-five percent say it will 30-plus points against the Jets.)

New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Gillette Stadium, Nov. 25, 8:15 p.m.

Apparently, this game hinges on Philly successfully blitzing and slowing down or stopping New England. Consider that Eagles starting safety Quintin Mikell is out and J.R. Reed is going to be making his second start -- of his career. That says Philadelphia thinks it's better to blitz than to cover anyone. I guess no one watches game film any more, because Tom Brady isn't John Beck.

I'll be heading down to Foxboro shortly, so I'm counting on all of you to talk it up here during the game.

Enjoy the game, and Go PATRIOTS!!
