Tom Brady's touchdown passes by game

Brady's TD Passes at a Glance
Who Will Catch No. 50 and When?

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has 45 touchdown passes after his 4-TD performance against Pittsburgh yesterday. That doesn't include one that was called back on a weak offensive pass interference call or a couple that he ran in.

Brady is 4 touchdown passes behind Peyton Manning's single-season record of 49. Before the season started, Colts fans said they never wanted to hear anything from Patriots fans about "Brady vs. Manning" again if Brady didn't throw 50 touchdowns this season. Why 50? I don't know. One more touchdown, two more Super Bowl rings. Seemed rather arbitrary.

Anyway, below is a table of Brady's touchdown passes by game through Week 14, who caught them and how many touchdowns receptions each player has.

There are two questions: When will Brady throw No. 50? And to whom? Could it be to No. 50?

Check out the table, vote in the poll, and make your predictions.

Notes from Sunday's Other Games

Classy Is As Classy Does

How classy is LaDanian Tomlinson? So classy that when his quarterback sat next to him on the sideline, Tomlinson scowled at him and walked away.

What a great teammate!

But ask him, and he'll tell you how classy he is.

To prove it, he made up some lame excuse for why he turned his back on this teammate. Something about he was talking to another player about something earlier and he had to go finish that conversation.

I wonder why he wasn't crying about LenDale White doing Shawne Merriman's dance in the end zone, being how disrespectful and classless it was when a Patriots player did it. Not such a big deal now?

Lights Out for At Least One Week

Speaking of gutless Merriman, he's falsely alleging that Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher ordered his players to purposely hurt him after Merriman tried to hurt Titans quarterback Vince Young, the way he tries to hurt just about anyone he touches and then dancing over them.

Ben Hartsock's hit on Merriman was completely clean, not to mention that he hit him high in the chest and Merriman sprained his knee.

Patriots fans might complain about things, but the things we complain about are legitimate -- not like the made up stuff by Ravens and Chargers players and fans of many teams.

Sixteen and Oh and Sixteen

Miami's 38-17 loss to Buffalo gave the Dolphins 16 straight regular-season losses dating back to Dec. 10, 2006, (exactly 1 year ago yesterday) when the Dolphins beat New England, 21-0, in Miami.

Meanwhile, the Patriots have not lost a regular-season game since then. They are 16-0.

Drop Me a Line Some Time

New Jersey opened as 25-point underdogs to New England next Sunday. It's the largest point spread ever for an NFL game. In some places, the line has dropped to as low as 24.

No Surprises

  • Some people thought Miami would give Buffalo a game. The Dolphins lost at home to New Jersey the week before. I don't understand how people came to the conclusion that Miami would go on the road to a better team in a cold-weather location and be competitive. They weren't.
  • With their 28-27 loss to Dallas, Detroit is 6-7 and will fail to meet Jon Kitna's 10-win preseason prediction. I guess God isn't a Lions fan.
  • Several teams "ran up the score" yesterday, but no one seems too upset.
  • Baltimore predictably rolled over for Indy. Haven't heard any excuses yet.
