New Name Added, But Better News
Saturday Night Weather Update
The New England Patriots added cornerback Ellis Hobbs to their injury report, but he was listed as limited in practice due to a team decision. Otherwise, tight end Stephen Spach and cornerback Antwain Spann were "upgraded" and were limited in participating in practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.
The big news of the weak is the collective return of offensive linemen Stephen Neal and Nick Kaczur and tight end Kyle Brady, all of whom missed significant time the last few weeks of the regular season. The Patriots will need them now.
Wide receiver Wes Welker was limited in practice for the second straight day, the result of a team decision. There's been little speculation (that I've heard) what reason there might be.
For Jacksonville, middle linebacker Mike Peterson is definitely out for Saturday. Peterson was among the Jaguars' regular-season leaders in tackles and also had a couple sacks and an interception.
The good news for the Jags (and not-so-good for New England) is that defensive tackle John Henderson returned to practice after missing Wednesday with a hamstring strain. Henderson did play last week against Pittsburgh.
The weather should be favorable to the Patriots and their fans. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to upper-30s with a light 5-mph wind that should have no impact on the game and little on the wind chill (low 30s). It will be cloudy, but no precipitation is expected.
