Two-Week Wait Is Excruciating
Can you stand it anymore? I mean, can you stand it?
As a Patriots fan, I have to be happy with the extra week layoff. After all, our quarterback tweaked his ankle and certainly would not have been 100 percent for Sunday two days ago. He should be ready for Sunday five days from now. But that's cold comfort as I sit here typing.
There's been plenty to write about, but I've stared many hours at my laptop LCD unable to type a word. Sure, I've had some busy work days, and I've been tired, but that didn't stop me. It wasn't writer's block exactly. It wasn't apathy. It's like I was stunned, frozen by the yawning chasm between the AFC Championship and Super Bowl Sunday.
I think I'm OK now, but there's still five more days. Five more days!
Sunday's halftime entertainment nailed it. The waiting is the hardest part. He wasn't talking about football, but he nailed it just the same.
We have some good stuff coming up. ETVal over at Big Blue View, SB Nation's New York Giants blog, and I will be exchanging 10 big questions in anticipating of the one big game. And I'll be hitting the sports blog airwaves the next couple nights.
So this is it: 118 hours to kickoff, 7,080 minutes. Give or take. Every one ticks by with increasing agony and anticipation.
I can't stand it.

Oh, I wanted to thank all of you for posting so many great diaries (special hat-tip to Gooch) and keeping up discussion while I rocked in a near-fetal position. And, of course, thanks to Michael for those fantastic links compilations. This is what community -- what "Patriots Nation" -- is all about.
How are you dealing with the 2-week wait? Will you make it to Sunday?

I can't. I won't! Play the game. Now. Now! NOW!
Maybe a couple more days, but I don't think I'm make the weekend.
I'll get to Sunday. But not a day longer!
Whatever. Sunday. Next Sunday. Next February. Doesn't matter.
