I hope everyone is having a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. This is a great time to enjoy a few moments with friends and family while soaking in a beautiful weekend weather-wise (sunny and in the seventies in northern Massachusetts). Had my first dip in the pool yesterday and it was a bit chilly, to say the least (if you can't stand water in the 60's and 70's, you have no business living in NE ;-)) I'm about to mow the lawn and then fire up the grill for the family which sounds OK to me.
While I'm enjoying my day, I plan on thinking about the service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in service to their country and fellow citizens. The fallen, along with all active duty personnel, deserve our unending gratitude for providing the blanket of security we live under every day. Please don't take that blanket for granted. Thank them, the bravest of us all. Shake their hand or tell them their money is no good when the bill comes; they've done enough. And if you're in harm's way, please come home soon. Your friends and family would like to raise a glass WITH you. Godspeed.
