League Fines New York Jets For Tripping & Accusing Pats

27
Per Mike Reiss: The NFL fined the New York Jets $100,000 for violating league rules when assistant coach Sal Alosi tripped Miami's Nolan Carroll on the sideline during a punt return, and said that the fine also includes Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff accusing the Patriots of using the same tactics. The NFL's statement said that the NFL constitution and bylaws require teams to report suspected violations to the NFL, not to put it out there publicly. By accusing the Patriots, Westhoff violated league rules.
