With the 248th pick in the 7th round in the 2010 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected Kade Weston, defensive lineman out of Georgia.
Another pick, another defensive lineman. Kade Weston is another 5-technique prospect that has great length and should compete for a job. He timed surprisingly well (4.97), and was ranked by some as high as a fifth round pick.
Like Deaderick, Weston has long arms, and a big body, at 6-5 and 315 pounds. He clogs gaps, and can hold up against double teams.
Although he isn't the best athlete, he still managed to pick up 2.5 sacks his senior season, and looks like he could play end or possibly nose tackle for the Patriots. Another solid selection by the Pats, as I think Weston can certainly compete for a roster spot. Greg's Grade: A-
