Good - bye Arlen Specter

I woke up this morning and heard the news on the Today Show that Arlen Specter had lost in the Pennsylvania Primary Election. He lost to Democrat Joe Sestak. I am not going to lie. This news made me very happy.

His role in the Spygate II scandal is something I will never forget. I am not going to replay the whole Spygate scandal. It has been 2 years and I have moved on from it. As a diehard Pats fan I will always remember his involvement in this scandal.

Why would a U.S. Senator make himself such an important part of this issue? Is it because he is a liflelong Eagles fan and still has not gotten over the loss in the Super Bowl to the Patriots? Could it have been he just cared about the people in Pennsylvania who loved the Eagles and he wanted to show them his support? Or, was he making himself a major part of this story for political gain and for his own self importance ? In my opinion I think he was doing this push on the Patriots for political gain and his own self worth.

Now to be fair The New York Times came to him. Specter however took this story to the next level. He was often in the news commenting about this scandal. Even after Specter talked to Matt Walsh he wanted the NFL to still perform a third party investigation on the Patriots.

Now most recently a Philadelphia Phillies coach was caught using binoculars during a baseball game. Where was Arlen Specter on this issue? Why wasn't he outraged about this possible cheating in baseball?

In concluding, I guess you can say I am still upset about Spygate and Spygate II. The Patriots did perform practices they shouldn't have. I don't approve of what the Patriots did in regards to Spygate. They were punished by the league for their practices. What made me really angry is this politician I believe tried to make himself a huge part of the Spygate II story. So to Arlen Specter I say good- bye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
