Ian Rapoport reports S Jarrad Page is pretty pleased about being in New England.
"I know the Super Bowl rings, I definitely know that," Page said. "I know it’s a team that goes out with a chance to win a game every week."
"The Patriots are a team that’s kind of like the Yankees," Page said. "You never like ‘em, but when you get a chance to play for them, you’re excited, you really happy that you get a chance to go to a team that is a perennial winner."
Dane Fletcher said today that he received the best advice on how to approach his making the Patriots’ 53-man roster from assistant coach Brian Flores.
"There’s not really any congratulations, you know. Coach pulled me aside, because I had to know, I asked him, ‘What’s the deal? Am I still around?’ It makes you sick, just sitting around wondering. I came in early both days of cuts. I couldn’t sleep all night. Got two workouts in and started asking around, ‘Coach, am I cut?’ He said, ‘You’re never "on the team," understand that.’
"That’s actually really good advice. I took that to heart," Fletcher insisted. "I might be around today, but I’m never on the team. I just have to live like that and go out and grind every day at practice and play as though it’s my last, because it might be."
William Bendetson (CBS Sports) Patriots' Moss feels 'not wanted' without contract offer.
"When you have done so much and put so much work in, it kind of feels like I am not wanted," Moss said in an exclusive interview with CBSSports.com. "I am taking that in stride and playing my final year out and whatever the future holds is what it holds, but it is kind of a bad feeling -- feeling not wanted. It is not like my production has gone down. I am speaking from an individual standpoint. I don't know about Tom [Brady's] or whoever else's contract.
"I am a little older and understand the nature of the business -- the older you get the more your skills supposedly diminish, but I think I am getting wiser in how to use my physical skills. That's the frustrating part when you put so much heart and desire into things and feel like you are not wanted."
