Patriots vs. Cowboys: Inactives

New, comments

The Patriots have announced their inactives for their 4:15 game against the Dallas Cowboys:

Ryan Mallet, QB

Jerod Mayo, LB

Julian Edelman, WR

Ras-I Dowling, CB

Sergio Brown, S

Josh Barrett, S

Sebastian Vollmer, T

This list isn't too surprising, although many had expected tackle Sebastian Vollmer to return.  Jerod Mayo and Josh Barrett were expected to miss the game.  Dowling, Brown, and Edelman were toss ups.  The bigger news with this set of inactives is really who is playing.

Tackle Sebastian Vollmer is inactive for the fifth time this year.  He's missed all but one game this year with a back injury.  The Patriots did however receive a boost with the return of running back Danny Woodhead, who missed last week's game against the Raiders with a sprained ankle.

Other players who were questionable but are still playing include Aaron Hernandez, Leigh Bodden and BenJarvus Green-Ellis.  Green-Ellis was suffering from a toe injury, but it doesn't appear that the injury will slow him down too much.  Hernandez returned from a knee injury last week, but was still listed as questionable on the injury report.
