The votes are all in and the Patriots dominated the AFC. Eight players have made the Pro Bowl Roster:

Offense

QB Tom Brady - Brady was the best quarterback in the AFC; there's no question. He was a lock.

TE Rob Gronkowski - Gronkowski is the best tight end in the league. He was a lock.

WR Wes Welker - Welker leads the league in yards and has been one of the most consistent performers in the AFC. He was a lock.

G Brian Waters - Waters has been the most consistent guard for the New England Patriots. He might not have been a lock, but it seems as if his high level of play has been noticed around the league.

G Logan Mankins - Mankins might have made the Pro Bowl based on reputation as he hasn't had the greatest success blocking this year. However, he has faced some of the best defensive linemen in the league and has held his own.

Defense

DB NT Vince Wilfork - Wilfork has made the roster due to his consistent play. He makes all the players around him better and, while he rarely rushes the quarterback, he has the ability to open lanes for other players to make plays.

DE Andre Carter - Carter's out with an injury so an alternate will have to take his place, but he was definitely one of the best defenders in the entire league before his season ended.

Special Teams

Gunner Matthew Slater - To be honest, I thought Slater might be cut before the season. He's been a consistent performer and leader on special teams and has been a complete fiend attack the returnman.

So those are the Patriots in the Pro Bowl. Unfortunately, this means that there will be at least 8 alternates making the Pro Bowl because the Patriots will be too busy to attend. Right?
