Patriots Held Private Workout Yesterday with Louisville CB Johnny Patrick

According to ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss, the Patriots held a private workout yesterday with Louisville cornerback Johnny Patrick.

Patrick, who stands at a 5'10.5" and 191 pounds, recently ran a 4.46 40 yard dash at his Pro Day workout. An experienced starter, Patrick is a solid athlete who matches his solid straight-line speed with good fluidity and an ability to turn with receivers. He has adequate size, good closing speed, and can be used on the boundary or in the slot as a cornerback. He has the ability to play off-man, press, or zone coverage at an above average level. He's decent in run support, and can also cover kicks on special teams. Patrick may have some off the field issues, having been arrested for assault a little less than a year ago. However, if teams look past these issues, they could find a potential starter in Patrick.

Expect Patrick to be selected somewhere between the second and third rounds.
